So... If you read Last weeks post....
You learned that the BSS was a great place to pick up beauty supplies for the Low Low. This week I happened to stop on by for my bi-monthly stock up, so I thought i'd share with you guys what I picked up! Enjoy!
Blue case lashes are typically the cheapest HUMAN -HAIR lashes in the hair store. (Stay away from the .99c pink pack) I never pay more than 1$ for these lashes as they are usually good for 1-2 wears before they start getting loosey goosey. However these are great if your like me and you like the feel of a fresh lash everyday OR your just planning to wear these for a special occasion. (See my previous blog for my favorite favorite lashes of all time that last for days and days!)
Black Power Piks
As ya'll know, underneath these wigs is a teenie weenie afro just growing along, minding her business...flourishing!. Lately I have started to let her see the light of day more often so I wanted to pick up some piks ( pun intended) to help me shape her without having to use my hands (and get product on them during the day) . Surprisingly enough you can pretty much find a Pik anywhere they sell combs, but how cute is this one with a FIST as a handle! I had to have this! And I will probably pass it down to my little kinky haired babies 🤗
Giant Hoops - Rose Gold & Regular Gold
Do ya'll follow the fashion trends like I do? If you, you'll know that HOOPS are back in (Not that they every left) but GIGANTIC hoops to be exact. For practical reasons, I can't be wearing necklace sized hoops everyday (and get caught and snatched on who know what) BUT these will be super cute for a night out with my big curly hair. Since I only paid 1$ for them, no harm no foul if I only get a few uses out of them. They actually seem to be pretty sturdy so i'm looking forward to seeing how they last!
Hard To Find Natural hair products
1. The first item is a knock off "WEN" that I picked up on a whim one day back in college (2010). This has been my go to conditioner, and leave in conditioner ever since. Remember, when buying new hair and beauty products from the BSS, you always want to go in with the spirit of product testing - some will be good and some ... not so much. But every now and then you'll luck up and find a product that will change your life , or your hair lol. This product has been that product for me! It is sulfate free and mentholated so it gives your scalp a nice tingle while the conditioner does numbers on yourhair.
2. Silicon Mix is a deep conditioner that started gaining popularity a few years back after the secret leaked that THIS is what the Dominicans were using to deep condition before their blow-outs. It works very well and I would suggest it as a deep conditioner for any hair type. Anybody who is familiar with this products knows 2 things - 1. Its good, 2. Its hard to find in stores (at a reasonable price). Luckily my local BSS keeps it stocked and priced at 1.99
3. This is my favorite hair oil, and I don't know why. I have used pure argan oil, pure keratin oil, the name brand Jamaican black castor oil, and even still I still keep coming back to this 1$ tube of "castor oil" (who really knows whats in there). All I know is that it absorbs 100% into my hair and seals in moisture!
La Pro Conceal - Porclein
I know your thinking, "Girl!, you know that shade is Too light for you" BUT, until I can get my hands on the white color that is coming out soon, I will try this shade out as the concealer I use to prep my eyelids for highly pigmented shadow.
Straight razor - (safety)
I plan on doing a blog on my hair removal routine in the near future, but just for now I can show you what I use to trim up my eyebrows and to also remove fuzz from my entire face. This is the razor I use. I find it easier than the longer ones that are usual pastel yellow/green. This one is shorter AND has a smaller razor head that, for me, makes it easier to arch my eyebrows without going overboard. I use a brand new razor every time and I DO NOT suggest doing your brows this way unless you have a steady hand (its easy to go too far with these!), and definitely don't use on your face (like your cheeks and upper lip) if you have sensitive skin or get irritated easily. I do not have sensitive skin in the least bit and shaving my face this way leads to very smoother makeup applications.
Just an awkward black girl trying to put some RESPEK on my name. I'll be covering your anti-typical "I'm really cheap but I still want to look decent" fashion topics, and your " I only buy make-up less than 10$" beauty topics. As a business owner read about my entrepreneurial journey, and as a hopeless romantic, read about my struggles to find love . If you really real, share, comment and subscribe!
